Dancing statues

A song breathes life
Into a heart of stone
A dance begins
We are all alone

A cold hand reaches out
A face is touched
The first one freezes
Another is touched

Figures moving
Changing shape
Weaving intricate patterns
A new life takes shape

For when we are touched
Our hearts of stone unfreeze
We gaze at those who touch us
A slow, dancing breeze

But when the right hand touches
Our hearts of stone
Our figures merge
And we are not alone

And as the song begins to fade
We stay with that hand
That has touched us
And as we fade
We are still touching

Dancing statues are frozen once more
this poem was inspired by geva summer academy.
